I am anticipating PK's contract negotiations to go right up to training camp. Have you heard anything different which merited the little reference to the weekend?

I'd say the Columbus Blue Jackets pulled off a fantastic deal, and the Flyers did not.

I hope Markov is never traded, he deserves to stay in Montreal for his whole career.

Cleared some cap space and added a clutch playoff performer today, they're making a run for it all. Only question is, will Subban take a real number in Philly and not a training camp one?

MB had to sign him for no other reason that he could not find a reasonable replacement through FA. You did suggest though Eric that his puck moving ability is still really good and has not eroded....I disagree...if you include his noticeably impaired skating ability (contrasted to pre-knee surgeries) as part of his puck moving then it has declined. He was caught flat-footed too often and had a bunch of giveaways late season and in the playoffs. This was a must sign for MB but I think by the 2nd year it will be a burden. Tough spot for the Habs.

I think no Olympics and younger guys stepping up will help him in the long run. If the 3 amigos (Tin man, Boils, and Blue chip) take a step back though it may not end well for the General.

I hope so but I have my doubts. He took less money on a bridge deal in order to break the bank with his next one. Since the then, he won the *Norris *(f.u. crims) and has taken over as the number one D. I think he is looking at north of 8 million, and will get it. Tough position for Bergevin and it will be very interesting to see how he gets through it.
